Washington – National Geographic’s new Shop the Road Less Traveled boutique, which went live this morning, offers hand-crafted textiles, home décor, accessories and jewelry inspired by the travels of anthropologist, filmmaker and National Geographic explorer Elizabeth Kapu’uwailani Lindsey.
The limited-time collection was made by artisans in to India, Thailand and Bali and centers on three themes: Jewel Tones Neutral Luxe, and Royal Accents.
Bedding includes one-of-a-kind kantha quilt sets at $395 and a hand-printed quilt for $275. Dec pillows range in price from $40 to $75. The collection also includes throws at $198, pouf cubes at $198, and a herringbone wool rug for $248.
“We journey to discover rich landscapes, beautiful works of art, enchanting cultures and centuries-old crafts that uphold these cultures. Recently I had such an experience as I traveled for three months in Southeast Asia. This collection is inspired by the spirit and beauty of these lands and their cultures,” said Lindsey, whose work involves the conservation of waning indigenous traditions.
