Assuming her new position today, Caponigro is charged with leading the development of all collections. She will manage the design staff and work closely with visual merchandising and marketing teams. In addition, she is responsible charting the company’s creative path as it approaches its 125th year.
She reports to Terri Eagle, president and ceo.

Caponigro has more than 20 years of experience in the design world from tenures at Veranda, Domino, Elle Decor and House Beautiful. At the helm of Veranda, she helped establish the magazine as a global luxury brand. She was a founding editor of Domino, where she was style director from 2004 to 2009. During her time there, she co-authored “Domino: The Book of Decorating,” a New York Times bestseller. Prior to that, she was the Design and Decoration Editor at Elle Décor. She spent 14 years at House Beautiful in various positions, including decorating director. She also created and owned a business dealing in European antiques. Caponigro began her career at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum.
